Takapuna Beach Reserve Playground, Auckland

What an amazing setting for a new playground on the foreshore at Takapuna Beach on Auckland’s North Shore. The playground was largely funded by local benefactors Jackie Kerridge and Chris Reeve, who contributed $500,000, with the remainder of the money coming from Auckland Council.

Designed for kids and adults alike, the playground has a 10-metre tower with slides from various levels, wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round and trampoline, a water play area, a basket swing, and a number of hammocks beneath large pohutukawa trees. Teamturf were responsible for 95% of the playground safety surfacing covering critical fall heights from 1.0m to 3.1m. Using our 35mm Proplay shockpad and Ivory Spine teamturf, we have created a rolling landscape of safety surfacing that fits in with the green local surroundings on Takapuna beach. The opening weekend and every weekend since have seen thousands of kids using this fantastic new playground and the teamturf surfacing looks amazing!
